FINAL

Target Audience

The intended audience for this website are new and current students, parents, and returning students who are unsure of their path yet. This site trys to capture your attention through CTA's, animation, and color, aimed at giving the user options on the site. The site to entertain and info for an enjoyable user experience. There is room to add more content, however I wanted this site just to inform and focus on the intended audience about the digital arts programs.

My Message

The message I would like convey is that NWTC is an affordable option offering smaller class sizes, top-of-the line instructors, and a campus environment dedicated to student student success. The portfolio is being used to promote the College of Business and their programs. I want to place a button for an 'apply now' link to go directly to an application for NWTC, time permitting.

Overall Goal

The design I used sparked new ideas as I went along, using some cool effects, some other animation other than header on scroll, and styling my elements with little nuances with color and side information, that could attract and interest students to apply for acceptance or appeal to their parents.

Action!

The CTA's I used were on the contact page for submitting your name/location to map out directions on how to get to NWTC from a location, such as your home. Other inputs are for submitting a name and comment and email so NWTC admin can respond to a question or deliver updates/reminders by the school for alerts, information, important dates, and marketing purposes.

Purpose and Intent

I chose the card layout as it seemed like a good fit with the topics addressed and for the informational content, presentation, and appeal. The color hues are based off of the school colors and were utilized in different areas with the intent on the theme remaining compatible. Most pages, as of now, except my 404, have a similar feel to the site with a logical and orderly presentation. Images are in WebP format and optimized, saved in their respective folders for a higher SEO. I have it set up for mobile with proper media queries, I hope. The design provides a way to return home on any page if the user gets lost for what they are looking for. Even on the 404 page! It works, but no style, yet! All pages validate as of 4pm! Ha!Ha! In this course I learned new code and reinforced the old code of what I already learned from all the other classes combined in the Web Design Certificate program. I think I really was able to immerse myself this semester. I truly give thanks to all of my instuctors, especially Robert Buchholz and Karen Krajcie for the patience they exercised with my mobility challenges, my twitching fingers, and my foul mouth... I am truly sorry! ... David
